AMMROC launches new programme on Oracle Super Cluster in 1.5 months

AMMROC (Advanced Military Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Center), the Abu Dhabi-based joint venture between Mubadala Development Company, Sikorsky and Lockheed Martin, has launched its enterprise resource planning (ERP) services and complex maintenance, repair and overhaul (cMRO) programme on the Oracle Super Cluster.

The programme is the company’s largest and fastest-ever application on the platform, taking only 28 working days for successful implementation.

Fahed Al Shamesi, CEO of AMMROC said: “AMMROC has made substantial investments in Oracle hardware and software to support our business growth and objectives. The innovative solutions presented by this project will allow us to reduce our turn-around times, and enable faster response to customer needs. This industry-leading programme will also allow for even more efficient supply chain management at AMMROC, via optimised stock and inventory levels, as well as advanced forecasting for material planning. Ultimately, this will support AMMROC’s expansion and performance, while helping UAE nationals to be future leaders and providing the chance to easily adopt high-end technologies.”

Tom Pegrume, VP, Systems, for Oracle Middle East and Africa commented, “The setup and implementation of such a complex project being completed within 1.5 months was a remarkable achievement and one of the fastest deployment times for Super Cluster implementations. AMMROC’s ability to master complex MRO IT solutions, combined with Oracle’s services of engineered systems, has led to this remarkable success.”

Oracle cMRO is both an aircraft maintenance application for transportation and defense operations, and an MRO service application for aerospace and defense manufacturers. The programme is designed to enable collaboration among parties involved in air fleet maintenance.

AMMROC provides military maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services to the UAE Armed Forces and other military operators across South Asia, Middle East and North Africa. AMMROC is poised for significant growth in the coming five years, and this project is considered a cornerstone in AMMROC’s mission to establish state-of-the-art IT infrastructure to support its advancements, and its move to a purpose built centre of excellence at Nibras Al Ain Aerospace Park.

Oracle cMRO was developed as a solution for issues related to supply and demand of spare parts including stock outs, aircraft on ground (AOG) situations, or high inventory carrying cost for companies. Oracle SuperCluster, Oracle’s most powerful Oracle Database Machine, is an integrated server, storage, networking and software system.
