Kathrein, an international specialist for reliable, high-quality communication technologies, has opened a new office in Singapore to manage business and sales for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Kathrein has also appointed Ashwini Bakshi to oversee the APAC region out of Singapore as part of the strategy to enhance its presence in regional markets.

Kathrein sees attractive business potential in the region: Nearly half of the world’s mobile phone users are registered in APAC, with a continuing upward trend. Like in other regions, customers have ever growing expectations regarding network availability, reliability and quality. To fulfil customer requirements in the best possible way, Kathrein will add specific solutions for the region to its portfolio.

“Mr Bakshi is an extremely experienced and competent manager,” says Joe Doering, CSO of the Kathrein Group. Ashwini Bakshi has been working in communications since 1995. He held leading positions at Nokia, Nokia-Siemens Networks and most recently at Ericsson. “The fact that Mr Bakshi is continuing his career at Kathrein is the best proof for our company’s great potential in the Asia-Pacific region.”

“Technologies are converging, the connected world is becoming evermore complex and the demands on communication technologies are constantly rising. This is particularly true for the APAC region with its large metropolitan areas,” explains Bakshi, MD, APAC, Kathrein. “Due to its uniquely diversified knowhow, Kathrein has the perfect prerequisites for positioning itself in APAC.”

Kathrein has also committed to participate in CommunicAsia, the regional trade show held in Singapore from 31 May to 3 June 2016. The company will showcase intelligent solutions to address complex technological challenges in mobile communications, indoor connectivity and broadcasting.
