Jules Ventures is launching the world's first computational thinking (CT) game curriculum, School of Fish, on 18 February.
The company explains that CT is problem-solving in a logical way, and said that gamification will allow children to internalise concepts such as pattern recognition, decomposition of problems into smaller tasks, application of a sequence of tasks to obtain a solution, termed algorithmic thinking, and reapplication of the thought process to similar problems, termed abstraction.
"Building a strong cognitive foundation during the early childhood years will allow a child's potential to be fully realised. Learning CT during this phase will therefore fundamentally change how children think and solve problems for the rest of their lives. Their outlook will never be the same again,” said Lim Wee Kiat, Chief Education Officer, Jules Ventures.
“Like math and language, CT will become a basic skill in the new digital economy. We believe our revolutionary game-based School of Fish CT syllabus will become the gold standard in teaching CT skills and prepare children to become digitally fluent when the Smart Nation vision is a reality,” added Jonathan Chan, Founder, Jules Ventures.
"My charitable foundations were created on the premise of promoting social equality. I believe Jules Ventures' mission to enable all children with CT competency is a worthy cause,” said Dr Eric Xu, Co-Founder of Baidu and a philanthropist.
