Oracle to build state-of-the-art Digital Sales Hubs in APAC, recruit 1K professionals

As part of its digital transformation strategy Oracle will build five Digital Sales Hubs in the Asia Pacific region, and plans to hire 1,000 professionals to keep pace with continued demand for cloud among midsized organisations.

In the last year, Oracle has grown its cloud business significantly throughout Asia Pacific. Companies which Oracle has helped on their cloud journeys represent large and midsized firms across industries including communications, insurance, high tech, media, financial services, healthcare, e-commerce, natural resources, and education, among others. The company hired 1,000 cloud professionals across Asia Pacific to address demand from midsized organisations last year, focusing on Australia, Greater China, India, Korea, and the ASEAN countries.

Through the company’s new digital sales unit, Oracle aims to help more midsized organisations transition to the cloud quickly and seamlessly. Digital Sales Hubs will be set up in Australia, China, India, Korea and Singapore to support this goal. Oracle will hire 230 professionals in Singapore as part of the recruitment initiative, and 200 professionals in India.

The Oracle Digital team aims to transform the buying experience, provide elite customer service, and deliver customised solutions. Each Digital Sales Hub will be equipped with resources such as Smart Walls, which deliver real-time product demonstrations to customers anywhere in the world from the office; Social Listening Hubs to stay ahead of industry and customer trends in real-time; and one-click contracts, which will enable digital sales representatives to respond rapidly to customer requests and market changes.

“The demand for cloud is rising fast. As a result, Oracle’s cloud business in Asia Pacific has been on an upswing. Today, Oracle supports many customers in the region with our vast cloud portfolio,” said François Lançon, SVP, Oracle Asia Pacific. “We are going through an exhilarating phase of growth;; the industry is going through a major transformation in the way IT is consumed. Cloud is the future.

“Our new, one-of-a-kind sales unit will focus solely on supporting cloud development in Asia Pacific’s mid-market economy, which includes a thriving startup community.”

Neeraj Shaabi, Regional MD for ASEAN and Sage, Oracle added: “Hiring a team of nearly 230 salespeople to cater to midsize companies in Southeast Asia demonstrates our intent of helping them digitally transform to compete in today’s economy. With Singapore serving as a Digital Selling Hub for the region, we are confident of providing much more personalised services to companies using the cloud.”

“We are witnessing one of the fastest technology adoptions in India with Oracle cloud. The combined forces of cloud, mobility and social are changing how customers want to buy and be catered to in today’s digital market place. To meet this growing demand we want a ‘quick action’ sales force that is digitally savvy and will leverage modern software tools to offer a seamless buying experience to our customers. We will train them and equip them with the most advanced tools and infrastructure to support their roles,” added Shailender Kumar, MD, Oracle India.
