Erik Prince appointed chairman of DVN Holdings, now renamed Frontier Services Group

The Board of Directors of Hong Kong-listed DVN Holdings, an investment holding company with a strong focus on technology, has appointed Erik D. Prince, the founder and former CEO of Blackwater, as an Executive Director and the new Chairman of DVN effective January 10, 2014.

The move follows a focus on logistics and aviation, ground, and maritime transportation services. Prince comes from Frontier Services Limited (FSL), an aviation and logistics services company operating in East Africa which was acquired by DVN in November 2013.

DVN also announced a name change in its directions to reflect the re-alignment of DVN's principal business focus, from "DVN (Holdings) Limited" to "Frontier Services Group Limited".

Outgoing DVN Chairman Johnson Ko will remain as Deputy Chairman. Mr. Luo Ning, a Director of the CITIC Group, which is a substantial shareholder in DVN, will also serve as a Deputy Chairman.

According to BusinessWeek, DVN provides advertising agency services and online financial market information in China, and also has other investments including in online gaming and online Chinese language learning systems.
