Riverbed in Gartner’s Leader quadrant for Magic Quadrant on Network Performance Monitoring and Diagnostics

Riverbed Technology, which provides application performance infrastructure, has announced it as a “Leader” in Gartner’s first 2014 “Magic Quadrant for Network Performance Monitoring and Diagnostics (NPMD).”

This is the third Gartner Magic Quadrant in which Riverbed has been recognised as a leader; it is also a leader in the Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and WAN Optimization Controllers Magic Quadrants.

“As applications continue to become increasingly complex and distributed, it is absolutely essential to have a holistic operational view of application performance, from the end-user, through the network and infrastructure, and deep into the actual application components and code,” said Paul Brady, General Manager of the Riverbed Performance Management business unit at Riverbed. “This new NPMD market and our leadership position validates Riverbed’s vision and the dramatic shift toward application-centric performance management occurring in IT.”

According to Gartner, organisations are demanding insights beyond what can be deduced from traditional availability tools to address the acute monitoring needs of network environments. NPMD has risen to enable organisations to be more proactive and strategic with network management planning and strategy*.

  1. Network performance monitoring tool provides real time information and solution about several upcoming issues. It follows a method by which an administrator obtains information about the uptime of a website on the real time basis.
