SingTel introduced Video Analytics-as-a-Service (VAaaS) in late April to transform already-available video data into customer intelligence with the help of analytics technology. The subscription-based VAaaS uses SingTel Innov8 investee* company KAI Square’s cloud-based video analytics platform to provide businesses with data such as:
• People Counting
Measures store traffic as a means to determine store conversion rate, or is used to optimise staff allocation
• Audience Profiling
Breaks down customer demographics, making it easier to sell to them
• Human Traffic Flow Tracking
Tracks the path taken by visitors and lets retailers know how best to attract customers’ attention through careful product placement
• Crowd Density
Tells retailers which areas in the stores have more activity than others, and where to increase visibility of promotions
• Intrusion Detection
Allows store owners to define high security zones and alerts them if intruders are detected in those regions
• Perimeter Defence
Enables operators to know if specific boundaries are crossed in order to prevent unwanted in and out movements
