NetComm Wireless, which develops wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) products, has opened a branch office in Tokyo, Japan following its M2M distribution agreement with Kanematsu Communications.
Kei Hara has been appointed to lead NetComm Wireless' expansion into the Japanese market and is responsible for supporting new business opportunities in line with the company's M2M strategy. NetComm Wireless' operations will work with leading carriers and export companies in partnership with Kanematsu Communications to meet the demand for M2M solutions in verticals such as utilities, point of sale, agriculture, logistics, and healthcare.
The arrangement will maximise the effectiveness of M2M developments and create new areas of growth in Japan's market through the delivery of open-platform wireless M2M technologies that seamlessly integrate with mission-critical applications and systems.
The Tokyo branch will be NetComm Wireless' first sales office in Asia, the largest regional M2M market accounting for 42% of global M2M connections, according to GSMA. Certified
for deployment in Japan, NetComm Wireless' M2M devices facilitate
immediate deployment by major telecommunications carriers, system
integrators, vertical industry sectors and Japanese multinational
companies seeking to expand their M2M operations globally. Its NTC-6200 Series gateways are currently available through Kanematsu Communications.
NetComm Wireless also delivers wireless M2M technologies to global markets out of offices in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.
