Rally reveals new Agile programme resources

Rally, a global provider of enterprise-class software and services to drive agility, has launched new solutions, features, and services to enable organisations to achieve enterprise-scale Agile programme success using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

The new portfolio includes support for version 3.0 of the Scaled Agile Framework and the certification of three coaches in Scaled Agile's (SAI) SAFe Program Consultant Trainer Certification (SPCT).

The three certifications announced today are among the first in the industry. With these new offerings, organisations can scale Agile across the enterprise to deliver value faster, and sense, create, and respond to change quickly and confidently.

"Rally is SAI's first comprehensive solutions partner, and a proven trailblazer when it comes to providing consulting and tooling solutions for adoption of SAFe," said Dean Leffingwell, Chief Methodologist and creator of the Framework.

"As a Gold SPCT-certified provider of SAFe, Rally meets the industry's most rigorous standards and field requirements for SAFe practitioners. I have full confidence in Rally's ability to implement, scale, and sustain Agile success across an enterprise."

Backed by over 40 SAFe Program Consultants (SPCs) and 3 SPCTs, Rally Program Launch can now be applied using the new Scaled Agile Framework v3.0 methodology, helping customers establish and sustain programme success. Combining expert consulting, coaching, and training services with Rally's leading Agile software platform, Rally Program Launch is specifically designed to help launch and execute scaled Agile programmes in as little as three months.

This solution enables customers to create agility throughout their business and respond to change -- like that caused by digital disruption and evolving regulatory conditions -- quickly and confidently. Rally Program Launch also helps organisations rapidly get the right products to market, develop high-quality solutions sustainably, and transform development organisations
to deliver responsive and sustainable value.

Rally Unlimited Edition includes several new and enhanced capabilities for scaling Agile using SAFe v3.0, such as:

* New SAFe metrics, including important feedback metrics like iteration and release progress (SAFe Release Train level metrics), and metrics related to business initiatives and goals, like lean portfolio and enterprise balanced scorecard metrics (SAFe 3.0 Portfolio-level metrics).

* A new release planning board that allows users to create realistic release plans that consider feature size, cost of delay, and development capacity. As a keystone of the Rally Program Launch approach, this new capability supports real-time release planning during large-room release-planning events, resulting in a shared understanding of business priorities and commitment to an execution plan.

* Improved programme-level navigation in Rally's platform, which makes it easy for an Agile programme delivery team to plan, track, and report on work across coordinated development teams which are working against a prioritised programme backlog and committed release plans.

"We started Rally 12 years ago to help organisations transform how they develop software at enterprise scale," said Ryan Martens, CTO, Rally Software. "In the last three years, we've made a significant investment in developing SAFe expertise in our solutions.

"All of our coaches and CTO office consultants are required to be SAFe Program Consultant certified, and now, we have three SPC Trainer level certifications on staff as well. This will help us take worldwide distributed organisations further and faster through their transformations."

Rally is the first and only SAI platform partner to achieve SAFe Program Consultant Trainer Certification, the highest certification level offered by SAI. Established by SAI, the SPCT program recognises individuals who demonstrate superior knowledge, competency, and in-depth field experience in adopting Agile across an enterprise with the Scaled Agile Framework. Additionally, those with SPCT status are the only ones authorised to train aspiring SPCs.
