REC Solar signs on Fujitsu to manage data centre

Fujitsu Singapore, an IT-based business solutions provider, has been appointed by REC Solar ASA (REC), a global solar energy solutions provider headquartered in Singapore, to manage its data centre operations as part of a five-year agreement. Fujitsu will manage REC’s IT infrastructure operations in Singapore, where REC has operating headquarters and has built the world’s largest fully integrated solar manufacturing facility.

REC’s data centre in Singapore supports offices in Singapore, India, Japan, Norway, US and Germany. The company wanted to outsource its data centre operations to enhance business-IT alignment, improve IT resource utilisation and IT management as its business has expanded.
