Extreme Networks’ SDA is an open standards based and comprehensive data centre ecosystem which delivers unified management, application analytics and dynamic data centre orchestration for highly virtualised enterprises, cloud/service providers, high performance computing (HPC) and big data deployments. Key to the SDA is OneController, an OpenDaylight-based software-defined networking (SDN) platform.

The new products include the Summit X670-G2 switch family, top-of-rack switches in 48- and 72-port 1RU 10GbE fixed models. The family boasts up to 144 ports in 2U and latency of less than 600ns.
The Purview Application Sensor appliance is also new. This appliance scales and simplifies the deployment of Purview analytics.
The company announced new members have joined its Technology Solutions Partner (TSP) Program. Members are committed to accelerating IT innovation through open standards-based and flexible, high performance network architectures in conjunction with Extreme Networks. Existing members include Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, and AirWatch by VMware, and they are now joined by:
Sanbolic – Provides a software defined storage and application scale-out solution for hyper-converged systems.
A10 Networks – Optimises traffic flows in global data centre interconnect scenarios.
· Net Optics/IXIA – Extends application visibility and analytics into virtualised data centre infrastructures.
