Micro component solution supplier AAC Technologies Holdings and Swedish audio technology provider Dirac Research are teaming up to offer smartphone users a wide dynamic stereo sound and exceptional clarity.

The agreement will combine AAC's high performance micro speakers and acoustic design with Dirac's M-Suite sound optimisation algorithms.

"The cooperation with AAC creates exciting opportunities to leverage our digital audio processing on a wider scale in mobile devices. The combination of the class-leading bass, sensitivity and distortion performance of AAC's speakers and our audio software competence will form a unique base for development of new products, and create great value for the customer," said Dr Mathias Johansson, CEO at Dirac.

"Smartphones and tablets are becoming entertainment platforms. Therefore consumers' demand for sound quality increases and the speakers are moving in the direction of high fidelity but miniature size. With Dirac's cutting edge technology in audio signal processing working together with AAC's high performance speakers, the sound quality is enhanced, and the combination fits well with our strategy to provide customers with total solutions," said Zhu Bingke, R&D Senior VP at AAC.
