Zebra Technologies announces new APAC leadership appointments

Zebra Technologies, which provides solutions that extend real-time visibility into business operations, has announced new strategic appointments across Asia Pacific (APAC) to bolster the company's leadership in the region.

This announcement follows Zebra's successful completion of its acquisition of Motorola Solutions' Enterprise business. The new Zebra Technologies APAC leadership team includes:

· Rod Rodericks, Vice President and General Manager, APAC

· Ryan Goh, Vice President of Sales, APAC

· Penny Chai, Marketing Director, APAC

· Wu Jian, Regional Sales Director, Greater China Region

· Takanori Furukawa, Regional Sales Director, Japan

· John Woo, Regional Sales Director, Korea

· Deep Agarwal, Regional Sales Director, India

· Michael Lam, Regional Sales Director, Southeast Asia

· David Arkles, Regional Sales Director, Australia/New Zealand

All six Regional Sales Directors will report to Goh.

In the last five years, Zebra experienced growth rates of about five-fold in headcount and more than three-fold in market presence across the region - India and China alone saw 130% and 158% increases in revenue respectively. Cities and enterprises across APAC are expected to deploy more asset-intelligence solutions, signalling even greater potential for growth, development and collaboration with local partners for Zebra Technologies in the region.

A new global study about the Internet of Things (IoT), conducted by Forrester Consulting in November 2014 study on behalf of Zebra Technologies, revealed that APAC leads the world in the adoption and deployment of IoT solutions. Over 85% of surveyed firms in APAC believe that IoT solutions will be the most strategic technology initiative for their organisation in a decade, higher than the global average of 80%. The same study also confirmed that firms in APAC had a higher IOT deployment momentum, with over 70% having deployed or in the process of deploying an IOT solution, compared to the global average of 65%.

Rod Rodericks, Vice President and General Manager, Zebra Technologies APAC said: "Our new leadership team brings a wealth of knowledge and management experience across a broad range of technologies and services to Zebra, and I have the utmost confidence that they will contribute strong leadership centred on the needs of our customers and partners during this exciting time of growth and integration for Zebra in APAC."
