Enterprise apps could transform the Apple Watch into a powerful communications and collaboration tool for mobile professionals, ShoreTel said.
If the enterprise is already using ShoreTel technology, employees with the corresponding Apple Watch app, ShoreTel Mobility Client, will be able to connect to their unified communications (UC) system at work to:
- View and respond to secure corporate instant messages
- Answer or reject an incoming enterprise call
- Redial a missed enterprise call or call a member on their “favourites list”
- Join conference calls without additional bridging or authentication required
Analyst Zeus Kerravala of ZK Research states: “Companies that adopt Personal UC and put mobile first will be ready to add smart watches to their tech portfolio and open up a whole new way for employees to collaborate and increase productivity.”
