Avaya has appointed Richard Spence as the company's Managing Director for ASEAN. Based in Singapore, Spence begins his role with immediate effect, with responsibility for Avaya’s business in Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Indochina.

“ASEAN is a truly vibrant and rapidly evolving market place, and we needed a leader who could deliver on the opportunities for our customers and partners, and for Avaya, with the advent of the ASEAN Economic Community. Richard is a proven sales leader and achiever, and I look forward to seeing significant growth from ASEAN in the months and years ahead,” said Mike Ansley, President, Asia Pacific, Avaya.

Spence has been with Avaya since 2006; he has been responsible since 2013 for one of the largest global account customers – and one of the largest financial services players - in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, and is part of the
elite group of inaugural Avaya President’s Club winners of 2014. Prior to moving to Singapore, Richard was the Account Director for Avaya financial services customers in EMEA, and before that was responsible for major and global accounts brands.

Spence, an alumnus of the Leicester Business School at De Montfort University in the UK said: “Our customers across ASEAN are looking for more effective ways to engage with their customers and their own teams, to deliver business growth and delighted, loyal customers. I am committed to helping them achieve success with solutions and services that are tailored to their individual requirements.”
