Mobile application services to see heightened activity through to 2019

Technavio has a new report on the global enterprise mobile application development services market in which it forecasts that the market will grow at a CAGR of over 13% from 2015 to 2019.

“Growing BYOD policies among enterprises are helping organisations increase productivity and promote innovation. Employees are more comfortable using their own mobile devices, which makes them more productive and also increases the probability of innovation,” says Faisal Ghaus, Vice President of Technavio.

Key vendors mentioned in the report include Accenture, AT&T, Cognizant Technology Solutions, HCL Technologies, Hewlett-Packard Company, IBM, Infosys, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Tata Consultancy Services, and Wipro.

While market drivers include the increased proliferation of smartphones and tablets and the need for enhanced business productivity, but security concerns and a wide variety of different platforms remain a challenge for BYOD support. Technavio expects BYOD policies to become more popular with enterprises, and forecasts the emergence of BYOA, or bring-your-own-access, where employees pay for their own mobile data access.
