“Bjorn is coming onboard at an exciting time in the growth of Riverbed’s business in APJ. Our industry is at a crossroads, with businesses in APJ looking for more agility as networks and enterprises are more virtual, hybrid and mobile,” said Paul Mountford, Chief Sales Officer, Riverbed. “Our evolution to meet the challenges of hybrid enterprises and deliver relevant solutions for software-defined networks presents a huge opportunity for Riverbed in this part of the world. Bjorn’s proven leadership and experience as an IT veteran, together with his deep understanding of the markets, will be crucial to the continued success of Riverbed in APJ.”
Engelhardt brings to Riverbed 20 years of business, IT and consultancy experience in the Asia Pacific and Japan region, including security, data centre and virtualisation, network and application infrastructure, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and emerging technologies. He joins Riverbed from Actifio, where he served as Vice President & General Manager Asia Pacific & Japan. Previously Engelhardt held senior leadership roles with Symantec, where he led the SaaS and emerging technologies group. He has also held management, sales and distribution roles in KVS Software and Citrix Systems.
“Riverbed is delivering the right technology at the right time for companies in APJ,” said Engelhardt. “In a world where application performance equals business performance, the demand for always-on access to applications and data is at an all-time high. CIOs are more pressed than ever to keep their organisations productive, secure, and agile. Riverbed is changing the game for hybrid enterprises by delivering breakthrough technologies that not only transform the management of the front lines of their business, in the branch, but also enable them to look at how business objectives, not technical constraints, drive how applications and data are delivered. We have a significant opportunity to accelerate this business transformation in APJ, and I look forward to driving this together with our customers and partners in the region.”
