Building on its 15-year relationship with VMware, HP today announced:
· An extension of a global server OEM relationship, which now provides HP the ability to sell VMware NSX, allowing customers to deploy applications faster, simplify and automate their data centre network fabric and improve security
· End-user computing solutions providing the highest density graphics virtualisation options
· New converged architecture, delivered as one integrated stack by certified channel partners
· New HP Software-defined Compute Services for VMware solutions, Network Virtualization Services for VMware NSX, Client Virtualization Services and Education Services for VMware
“Today’s announcements further extend HP’s long-standing relationship with VMware to simplify the implementation of the software defined data centre and cloud environments,” said Khai Peng Loh, Managing Director, HP Singapore. “These products, services, solutions and reference architectures will provide customers with the building blocks to transform to a hybrid infrastructure foundation to efficiently power the apps and workloads that run the business.”
HP and VMware are also announcing the industry’s first global sales, support and go-to-market agreement for the VMware NSX network virtualisation platform to help customers accelerate the deployment of new high-performing applications, simplify data centre fabric and operations and improve security. This agreement builds upon the previously announced HP-VMware NSX networking solution and includes end-to-end network virtualisation consulting and support capabilities.
In addition, HP’s hardware L2 Gateway solution, based on HP FlexFabric 5930 switch OVSDB and VMware NSX integration, as well as the industry’s first jointly developed federated HP software-defined networking and VMware NSX network virtualisation solution, will receive VMware certification.
“The software-defined data centre enables companies to evolve beyond hardware-centric architectures to create an automated, easy to manage hybrid cloud platform that can meet the demands of both traditional and emerging cloud-native applications,” said Carl Eschenbach, President and COO, VMware.
To enhance the value of workplace productivity, HP is introducing more flexibility and choices of end-user computing solutions with VMware Horizon 6.1 and NVIDIA GRID. Powered by HP OneView, the new system gives customers a single management interface. Optimised for VDI use cases, these solutions provide variable, full lifecycle support options and open interoperability with third party top-of-rack networking switches and hypervisors from major vendors.

Optimised for VDI use cases, these solutions provide variable, full lifecycle support options and open interoperability with third party top-of-rack networking switches and hypervisors from major vendors.
These end-user computing solutions can support up to 3,500 users and are fully tested to run desktop virtualisation applications at optimal performance, helping customers reduce provisioning time, cost, setup and installation errors. Each solution has the flexibility to be built and delivered directly from HP or by a certified channel partner.
HP extends the Converged Architecture partner programme with the new Converged Architecture 700 (CA700). Built on HP BladeSystem, HP 3PAR Storage, HP OneView and integration with VMware vSphere and VMware vRealize Operations, the CA700 offers simplicity with the only integrated system with converged management across compute, storage and fabric. Ideal for private clouds and enabling mobile workforce and mixed workloads, customers obtain the infrastructure as a single integrated stack built and delivered by the certified channel partner of their choice.
The CA700’s integrated stack enables VMware administrators to simply manage the entire stack as one infrastructure with one management platform. From the vSphere console, VMware administrators can deploy and expand clusters and perform day-to-day operations across the entire stack.
New HP services for VMware include:
· HP Software-defined Compute Accelerator for VMware. This pre-defined, customisable accelerator solution contains the hardware, software and services to enable the piloting of a specific compute use case in the enterprise.
· HP Software-defined Compute Implementation Service. HP experts apply software-defined infrastructure (SDI) concepts and VMware, HP-based reference architecture in data centre environments.
· HP Client Virtualization Services. Full lifecycle HP services covering assessment, design, implementation, deployment, testing and support of client virtualisation and VDI for VMware solutions into customer environments.
