Mobile telecoms in China may be due for restructuring

Experts website.
Mobile Experts has released a report on the mobile infrastructure in China that details a short-term 'train wreck' in the TD-LTE market, as well as the upcoming shift to small cells, distributed antenna systems (DAS), and Wi-Fi solutions.

"China Mobile has caused a train wreck in their supply chain this year, with a sudden shutdown of TD-LTE deployment that has lasted for over four months," said Joe Madden, Principal Analyst at Mobile Experts. "China Telecom and China Unicom are picking up some slack, but our customers have major questions about what is going on politically in China to upset the market."

Mobile Experts also notes that the Chinese government has restructured their telecom sector four times, and conditions are now aligning to make a fifth restructuring program likely.
Its new report explains the rationale behind the developments and outlines what a restructuring could look like. Companies mentioned in the report include Alcatel Shanghai Bell, Datang, Ericsson, FiberHome, Huawei, Nokia, Potevio and ZTE.
