Burj Khalifa hosts residences, offices, common areas, and leisure attractions. To meet tenants and visitors service-level expectations, it requires a networking platform that is secure, flexible, scalable and robust. This is now enabled with SDN Fx, Avaya’s fabric-based, software-defined network architecture.
With Avaya’s SDN Fx networking technology, Burj Khalifa will also benefit from an effortless and efficient network rollout, while ensuring reliability in service delivery and network access. The technology infrastructure will enable guests, tenants, and IT teams to enjoy the best network quality experience, with no downtime, simplify network management, and ensure smooth provisioning of new devices.
Avaya’s SDN Fx, announced in February 2015, is making inroads into large structures around the world. In addition to the latest customer example of Burj Khalifa, Avaya continues to support various iconic brands and buildings across the world:
· Dubai World Trade Centre: With Avaya’s SDN Fx solution, Dubai World Trade Centre was able to save at least 50% to 60% in provisioning time.
· Westpac Bank: With Fabric Connect, Westpac’s data centre relocation team was able to bridge the networks between all three data centres in 15 minutes.
· International University of Kagoshima: Japan’s International University of Kagoshima chose Avaya Fabric Connect for its campus network. The network virtualisation solution supports faster delivery of new applications and services, delivers operational cost savings, reduces waiting time and meets the university’s needs for security, traffic separation and business continuity.
