Frost & Sullivan recognises Philips for telehealth achievements

Royal Philips, a diversified health and well-being company, has received several industry awards in Southeast Asia recognising its efforts in driving outstanding performance, continued strength and innovation in healthcare business.

Philips is Frost & Sullivan's Indonesia Tele-health Company of the Year and Asia Pacific Tele-health Company of the Year. Philips’ Mobile Obstetrics Monitoring (MOM) was piloted in Indonesia with the Indonesian Reproduction Science Institute (IRSI) at Bundamedik hospital group, providing expectant mothers with enhanced care to help address maternal mortality - a top priority for Indonesia.

The one year pilot that awarded Philips with the Indonesia Tele-health Company of the Year Award took place with 656 pregnant women and showcased how this solution helps to unite information and action to identify and manage high-risk pregnancies by bringing care to primary health centres and patient homes. MOM empowers community caregivers to capture vital information during home visits, enabling antenatal risk stratification, diagnostic assistance, and progress assessment through mobile applications.

Philips was also presented with the Asia Pacific Tele-health Company of the Year Award for launching the first telehealth programme for heart failure patients in Singapore. The dedicated pilot study integrates tele-monitoring, tele-education, and tele-care support via the EH Alliance’s Health Management Unit nurse tele-carers in Changi General Hospital. These help engage heart failure patients to better take care of their health, helping to reduce the risk of hospitalisation and premature death.
