Ubisense announces Hyundai Motors win in Korea

Ubisense Co., the recently-established Korean reseller partner to the Ubisense Group, the enterprise location intelligence solutions provider, is to deploy Ubisense Smart Factory at Hyundai Motors’ future factory facility in Namyang, Korea. Hyundai will be using Ubisense Smart Factory to enable advanced factory operations including automatic vehicle identification, product-sensitive tool control and optimised asset management.

Ubisense Smart Factory is a production-proven manufacturing optimisation solution that leverages Ubisense’s best-in-class Real-Time Location System (RTLS) to reduce waste and lower the cost of complexity in automotive assembly. At the Namyang plant, some 96 Ubisense RTLS sensors will be deployed, along with Smart Factory software applications Explorer, Virtual Station and Smart Device.

Said Richard Green, Ubisense Chief Executive Officer: “Not only does this win add yet another global automotive OEM to the list of Ubisense Smart Factory users, but deployment at the Namyang plant should demonstrate our manufacturing solution for future rollout across the Hyundai group.”

Other Ubisense manufacturing customers include BMW, John Deere, Volkswagen and Airbus. The Ubisense Korea win also demonstrates the ability of Ubisense to deliver on its stated strategy to increase its expansion through key reseller partnerships.

UK-headquartered Ubisense has Asian operations in Japan, Korea and Singapore.
