Emerson Network Power explains converged infrastructure in infographic

Emerson Network Power, a provider of critical infrastructure for information and communications technology systems, has released an infographic illustrating how converged systems are the keys to powering today’s critical network edge.

According to the company, the evolving IT landscape requires a new approach to optimising the data centre. The infographic shows how converged infrastructure systems may be the solution to addressing new data centre challenges. A converged solution could have integrated computing, power, thermal and monitoring management in the same chassis and be more intelligent and rapidly deployable.


The infographic covers essentials for businesses exploring data centre optimisation. Emerson Network Power's helpful checklist goes through some of the benefits that convergence can bring, including reducing the cost of new infrastructure; deploying and scaling more quickly, as well as holistic monitoring capabilities.


There is a lot of interest in converged systems. According to 451 Research, 40% of businesses are thinking about going for converged systems instead of traditional infrastructure.


BAO has also shown that converged infrastructure plans take up as much as 52% of the IT budget, especially for larger budgets.



The applications for converged systems are wide-ranging, from finance and manufacturing to retail and healthcare.
