Global software testing services to see 11% CAGR by 2020

Technavio has released a report on the global software testing services market, which is expected to grow at a CAGR of around 11% between 2016 and 2020, to surpass US$42 billion in value by 2020.

“The market vendors are offering various cloud-based testing software and solutions on a subscription basis, following the pay-per-use model. Cloud-based solutions allow greater flexibility to testing tools and are accessible anywhere at any time. They eliminate delays, cut down capital investments and the expenses related to maintenance, security, and infrastructure. These solutions have gained huge popularity among SMEs,” says Rajkumar P., Industry Manager, ICT, Technavio Research.

The market is witnessing considerable shift towards automated testing systems, where testers focus on the quality of the product, starting from the initial phase of software development to the product delivery. Moreover, automated testing systems eliminate the need for additional test code, so less maintenance is required.

The key vendors mentioned in the report include Capgemini, IBM, Accenture, and Wipro. Several vendors in this market are entering into partnerships with niche players to improve their software tool packages and enhance ongoing innovations.
