Plantronics BackBeat SENSE and Voyager Focus UC solutions are 2016 CES Innovation Awards Honorees

Plantronics' BackBeat SENSE wireless stereo headphones and Voyager Focus UC wireless active noise-canceling stereo headset have been named 2016 CES Innovation Awards Honorees in the Headphones product category.

This is the eighth consecutive year that the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) has recognised Plantronics solutions as Innovation Award honorees, the company said. Products submitted to the CTA for award consideration are judged by independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honour outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 27 product categories.

"We create solutions for people who want an amazing audio experience regardless of location or situation; whether you're a music-loving commuter, an open-office worker, or working remote at home or from a coffee shop, " said Lori Langona, Director of consumer marketing, Plantronics.

BackBeat SENSE Smart on-ear wireless headphones offer an 18-hour battery life and are designed to be worn comfortably all day. Smart sensor technology automatically pauses playback when the headphones are removed, then resumes when they are put on.

Voyager Focus UC is the industry's first wireless Bluetooth stereo headset with active noise-cancellation technology designed to reduce noise and distraction in open, collaborative and remote workspaces. Voyager Focus UC is also the first product to market with Dynamic Mute Alert, which senses and alerts users if they are speaking while muted.

The CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the CTA, producer of CES 2016. Entries are evaluated on engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended use/function and user value, how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace and unique/novel features present. Products chosen as CES Innovation Honorees reflect innovative design and engineering in some of the most cutting edge tech products and services coming to market.
