Singapore-headquartered e-commerce fulfillment company Anchanto has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Pos Logistik Indonesia, a subsidiary of PT Post Indonesia, to bring its purpose-built technology, expertise and regional network to the fast-growing Indonesian market.

With the largest e-commerce market in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is seeing local consumers shift to online purchasing but faces the challenge of logistics providers still using processes built for B2B logistics. This results in a lack of end-to-end visibility of orders, errors and delays in deliveries, and higher costs.

The MOU between Anchanto and Pos Logistik Indonesia will bring Anchanto’s leading e-commerce-focused technology to Indonesia. This will offer both local and cross-border companies fulfillment services that are developed from the ground up. It is anticipated that costs will be significantly reduced and services will span Indonesia.

Vaibhav Dabhade, CEO and Co-founder of Anchanto, said the MOU will help Anchanto and Pos Logistik Indonesia to work together to couple massive delivery, warehouses, sorting centres and trucking networks with Anchanto’s game-changing technology. “This MOU allows us to build the biggest e-commerce fulfillment and logistics offering for the Indonesian market," he said.

“Our mission is to let e-commerce companies, sellers and brands focus on what they do best, while we take care of providing world class fulfillment technology and infrastructure with third party logistics (3PL) partners in the region to them at scale, on demand.”

Anchanto and Pos Logistik Indonesia will carve out a dedicated e-commerce team to offer a complete suite of services by March 2016. Capabilities supported will include real-time order visibility, efficient picking and packing, channel sales management, persistent inventory listings across local and regional marketplaces, and customer support. According to Dabhade, persistent inventory refers to inventory information such as count, price and location that is available on multiple sales channels consistently.

“We have a robust plan to capture e-commerce logistics and cross-border e-commerce market share for the Indonesian market by helping SMEs, local businesses and brands,” said Hariyanto, Director at Pos Logistik Indonesia.

Yan Hendry Jauwena, Director of Business Solutions at Pos Logistik Indonesia, added: “We are looking at Anchanto’s fulfillment technology to offer Pos Logistik and PT Post Indonesia customers a cutting edge, localised and cost-effective solution which, coupled with Post Indonesia, reaches across all postal served locations to provide unparalleled reach for our e-commerce customers and SMEs to scale up very quickly.”

Anchanto’s clients include L’Oreal, 3M, Maybelline, Groupon, The French Cellar, and in partnership with wnDirect it processes cross-border orders for ASOS, House of Frasier, and New Look.
