The ruggedised LW-Z900FK comes with a magnetic mount for hands-free use. With a large handle, the shock- and scratch-durable elastomer material for the chassis ensures drop-impact resistance. The multi-faceted styling makes the device easy to hold one-handed, and the red body will stand out easily.
The LW-Z900FK offers a variety of shortcut keys for easily configurable label printouts, such as wire wrap, punch block, patch panel, cable flag and more. With the bundled Epson Label Editor software, users can choose from over 70 pre-installed templates to create custom labels, as well as import barcodes and images for printing.
The PC-compatible LW-Z900FK prints at 360dpi for high quality labels, and is compatible with die-cut labels. Tape cartridges are loaded from the front, enabling users to preview before printing. Tape-saving features include a reduced lead margin of 4mm and an auto tape rewind function that retracts excess tape for cost savings.
Print speeds of 35mmps ensure a quick turnaround. The Drop-Stop feature holds on to a label to prevent it from falling off after it is cut, while Pick-and-Print automatically pauses for the user to pick the printed label and resumes when it is removed.
Epson offers high quality labels in a range of styles, sizes and colours to create application-specific labels including cable wraps, die cut, magnetic and heat shrink tubes. Tape widths range up to 36mm in standard and metallic colours are available. The Epson labels themselves can withstand exposure to heat and cold, as well as to wet conditions. They are designed to stick fast in a variety of situations, including to curved surfaces, glass and stainless steel.
“We have developed a tough label printer that fits the most demanding environment, designed with functionality and ease of use in mind. Waterproof, humidity-resistant and scratch-resistant, the LW-Z900FK delivers at astounding speeds and aims to bring productivity to new levels,” said Tan May Lin, Epson Singapore’s General Manager (Sales, Marketing & Customer Service Division).
The design of the LW-Z900FK has won recognition at the iF Design Awards 2016. Award evaluation criteria included design quality, workmanship, choice of materials, degree of innovation, environmental attributes, functionality, ergonomics, safety, brand value and universal design.
The company has solutions for a wide variety of substrates. At the recent PrintPack + Sign 2016, a dedicated printing, packaging and signage event in Singapore for printers, print buyers and end-users, Epson showcased eco-solvent substrates printing by the Epson Surecolor SC-S80670, rigid substrate printing by the Epson SureColor SC-F6070, backlit signage from both printers, as well as textile prints from the SC-F6070. Colour and monochrome labelling solutions were also featured.
Commenting on the show Tan said: “Advancements in digital print technology and substrates have risen the bar for brands who want to stand out and appeal to consumers, despite cautious global economic sentiments. As the industry leader in digital printing, we are working with top substrate brands this year to share new applications and the latest trends. By showcasing potential solutions for campaigns and innovative marketing efforts through digital print solutions, we hope to help businesses capture their customers’ attention and translate that into better sales growth.”
