Spreadtrum Communications, a fabless semiconductor company in China with technology for 2G, 3G, and 4G wireless communications, has announced that its quad-core LTE mobile chipset, the SC9830i, can be found in the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7.0".
The SC9830i platform, is now shipping in the Samsung GALAXY Tab A7.0" tablets, with models available with LTE (SM-T285 series) and Wi-Fi (SM-T280 series) features. These tablets, designed with Spreadtrum's quad-core 1.5GHz LTE processor, feature a 7.0" TFT LCD display with the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, a 5 megapixel rear camera and 2 megapixel front-facing camera, 8GB of internal memory and 1.5GB RAM, a Micro SD slot and battery capacity of 4,000mAh.
The LTE platform consists 28nm quad-core 1.5GHz SC9830i baseband chip, supporting TDD-LTE, LTE-FDD, WCDMA, HSPA+ (also called Evolved High Speed Packet Access), GSM and GPRS, as well as a radio frequency (RF) chip, power management, and Spreadtrum's three-in-one connectivity chip.
