The Glass Sound Speaker LSPX-S1's glass cylinder projects clear sound and illumination with a perceived circumference of 360 degrees. It can be controlled via a smartphone.
"The approach the Glass Sound Speaker LSPX-S1 takes to make music come alive and illuminate at the same time is impressive. This beautiful sound sculpture represents a successful symbiosis of outstanding appearance and high functionality. The design concept is highly convincing and has been perfectly implemented," said judges.
The Red Dot Award is one of the largest and most prestigious design awards in the world. In 2016, the award received a record 5,200 innovations from 57 nations. A jury panel of 41 international experts debated in Germany over three days to select the product designs that represent the best of design today.

Register for news of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2017
The Red Dot Museum in Singapore is featuring a collection of products which have received Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016 awards. The exhibition ends 30 November 2016. The museum is at 28 Maxwell Road, Red Dot Traffic Building, Singapore 069120. It is generally open Monday to Sunday from 11am to 8pm but may be closed for private events on certain days.
The Museum has a separate exhibition called Convey, for winners of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design.
Award winning design concepts and ideas of the Red Dot Award: Design Concept, an award which is headquartered in Singapore, are also on show at the museum.
