– Microsoft has named Accenture/Avanade Country Partner of the Year 2016 for Singapore in recognition of the role the Microsoft Partners have played in helping to drive digital transformation conversations with organisations in Singapore over the past year.
In addition to Country Partner of the Year 2016, Accenture/Avanade also took home the CityNext Partner of the Year 2016 award, a new award category that acknowledges partners which demonstrate capabilities to address the most pressing challenges for urban environments and empower more sustainable, prosperous, and economically competitive cities.
Together, the two awards are a recognition of Accenture/Avanade’s strategic efforts in delivering impactful IT solutions based on Microsoft technology for Singapore organisations in both public and private sectors while accelerating digital transformation of their clients.
Sam Liew, Managing Director and ASEAN Technology Lead at Accenture said, “The ‘power of three’ relationship between Accenture, Microsoft and Avanade has been instrumental in helping clients transform their businesses leveraging Microsoft’s leading technology platforms.”
Held annually, the Microsoft Partners’ Star Awards celebrate the success of Singapore partners as they demonstrate business performance, competency, and impact in delivering strategic IT solutions to Microsoft customers in Singapore.
The Partners’ Star Awards also underscore Microsoft’s commitment to Singapore’s partner ecosystem. Microsoft collaborates closely with nearly 1,400 partners and resellers in Singapore to help them drive creative implementations of Microsoft technology and capitalise on new business opportunities in an increasingly digital world.
This year, competition was especially intense as the topic of digital transformation took centre-stage in business conversations, while new technologies such as the Internet of Things rose to challenge existing business and operational models.
To recognise partners which have stayed ahead of the curve and built new capabilities in this new era, Microsoft has introduced six new award categories this year:
· CityNext Partner of the Year
· Cloud Packaged Solutions Partner of the Year
· Internet of Things Partner of the Year
· Open Source on Azure Partner of the Year
· Small and Midmarket Cloud Solutions Partner of the Year, and
· Windows & Devices Deployment Partner of the Year.
These new categories reflect the market opportunities and challenges spurred by industry-wide transformation, and recognise Microsoft partners which have consistently reinvented themselves to build relevant new competencies.
Gerald Leo, Director for Small & Midmarket Solutions and Partners Group at Microsoft Singapore, shared “We live in a world of constant disruption, and organisations across all industries seeking to stay relevant in today’s market need to embrace technology to help develop new business models and generate additional revenue streams. In this fast-evolving landscape, our partners have proven time and again that they are in the best position to empower organisations in Singapore with the right digital tools for continued success.
“The 2016 winners of the Microsoft Partners’ Star Awards are on the leading edge of this transformation. They have displayed exceptional creativity and innovation in their implementations of Microsoft technology, and we look forward to another year of seizing new opportunities together in a world of ever-changing business needs.”
