NEC showcases public safety solution NeoScan45 in Indonesia for the first time

NEC has introduced cyber security technologies and advanced biometrics solutions at the 85th ICPO-INTERPOL General Assembly Exhibition Bali, Indonesia which is running till 10 November 2016.

With the rise in terror and cyber attacks around the globe, there is a pressing need for governments and enterprises to build robust defenses in the physical and digital world. NEC is showcasing the NeoScan45 for the first time in Indonesia at the event.

A mobile application equipped with multi-biometric capture capability including facial images, fingerprints and voices in addition to descriptive data, NeoScan45 leverages on NEC's face and fingerprint matching technology* to rapidly identify persons in the field without ID credentials, based upon a fingerprint or facial recognition search.

The same matching technology drives NeoFace Watch, a face recognition application, NeoFace Reveal, part of the same family, enhances poor quality latent face images, and helps to compare them against mugshot repositories.

Other solutions include the Digital Forensic Solution esuite, supporting forensic areas such as mobile device forensics and disk forensics.

*In 2014, NEC's fingerprint identification technology garnered the top place for matching accuracy in the Proprietary Fingerprint Template Test (PFT II), a benchmark test conducted by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to measure performance of fingerprint matching software by utilising vendor proprietary fingerprint templates.
