Niantic has partnered with Globe Telecom and The Pokémon Company in the Philippines. The company said in a blog post that it is working with Globe to expand the number of gyms and PokéStops throughout the country.

"The addition of the cool Globe retail locations and helpful charging stations will enhance gameplay as Filipinos catch, battle and train all over the Philippines. On Globe Prepaid’s leading GoSURF50 mobile plan, customers will be able to access Pokémon GO as one of the free apps within the bundle as well as download the free Pokémon GO promo on the Globe Switch app," Niantic stated.

The announcement was made at the first Philippine Pokémon Fest which was held in late October in Manila. The fest featured walks and tours, costume contests and Pokémon GO gym battles throughout the weekend.

"For everyone outside of Philippines - Our aim is to make it even easier and more fun for you to play Pokemon GO, no matter where you are. Stay tuned for more announcements," Niantic concluded.
