Zyppys, the Indian car rental startup targetting out-of-town (outstation) travel as opposed to travelling within one's own city, has tied up with OYO Rooms to facilitate hotel room bookings for customers. The move came following several customer requests to provide hotel booking facilities through the Zyppys app.
The company has raised funding from a US-based angel investor that will be used to help Zyppys expand geographically footprint within the country and also to advance their technological and marketing efforts.
Co-Founders Rajani Kasu and Madhu Raghunayakula said, "As a first step towards the goal of having our presence in 100 cities by next year, we have already expanded into Madurai, Trishur and Cochin, making our presence in the South Indian markets almost complete. Since our inception, we have been seeing steady growth in the number of rides per month and our repeat customers have doubled in the last quarter reinforcing our belief in the business. With this tie-up with OYO, our customers now have a unified platform to book cabs and hotels for outstation travel."
