Shenzhen's Huaqiang North, China's largest electronics trade hub and barometer of China's electronics industry, has launched a pedestrian street that integrates fashion, technology, security and openness after four years of reconstruction.

The main thoroughfare intersecting Huaqiang North has been transformed into a 930m pedestrian street. Lines 1, 2, 3 and 7 of the Shenzhen Metro all have a station nearby. The hub will add more than 4,000 sq m of new business space in a newly-opened sublevel.

Approximately 500,000 consumers shop at Huaqiang North every day, making purchases amounting to RMB200 billion a year. Due to the construction of Line 7 of the Shenzhen Metro, many sections of the streets and thoroughfares in Huaqiang North had been closed off to pedestrians since March 2013.
