IDC Asia/Pacific has launched its first-ever IDC DX Awards to recognise organisations in the Asia Pacific region excluding Japan (APeJ) which have achieved discernible and measureable excellence in their digital transformation (DX) efforts across one of the five DX masteries, or that have significantly transformed or disrupted the market.

“We felt the time is right to launch the IDC DX Awards as significant business transformations unfold in the region with the increased adoption of the 10 game-changing technologies* in the 3rd Platform. By the end of 2017, 3rd Platform technologies will represent almost 80% of the Asia Pacific (including Japan) ICT spending,” says Sandra Ng, Group VP, Practice Group, IDC Asia/Pacific.

“IDC will recognise organisations that have significantly disrupted the market or have transformed it through the use of digital and disruptive technologies and approaches. The seven categories and selection criteria reflect the key business transformation priorities in today’s marketplace, namely leadership DX, omni-experience DX, information DX, operating model DX and worksource DX.”

The IDC DX Awards will have seven categories, namely Digital Disruptor of the Year; Digital Transformer of the Year; DX Leader - L3D Mastery; DX Leader - Information Visionary; DX Leader - Omni-experience Innovation; DX Leader - Operational Transformation; and DX Leader - Talent Acceleration.

The country-level IDC DX Awards are open for public nomination. Participating countries will include Singapore, mainland China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines. Country winners will compete with each other to be recognised as the regional IDC Asia/Pacific DX Awards 2017 winners.

Winners will be selected through three rounds of panel judging and scoring on IDC’s DX MaturityScape Benchmark Assessment. In enforcing the highest level of transparency and impartiality in the evaluation process, each submission will be reviewed by IDC Asia/Pacific senior executives and an independent panel of judges composed of industry thought-leaders and veterans.
