Cebu Pacific raises online booking reliability with Limelight CDN

Limelight Networks, a global player in digital content delivery, has announced that the largest low-cost airline in the Philippines, Cebu Pacific (CEB), is using the Limelight Content Delivery Network (CDN) to provide a flawless online booking experience for customers across the globe.

CEB’s vision is to be the most successful low-cost airline in the world with a commitment to excellence and innovation in everything they do. CEB pioneered the “low fare, great value” strategy in the local aviation industry by offering reliable scheduled air travel services to passengers who are willing to forego the extras for discounted fares. Since 1996, the airline has flown more than 140 million passengers across 37 domestic and 29 international destinations, spanning Asia, Australia, the US and the Middle East.

With 60% to 80% of its passengers booking tickets online, CEB needed its website booking experience to be fast, secure, reliable and able to keep up with increased traffic as the business grows globally. Limelight’s CDN has improved the average web response time in East Asia performance by 44% and global delivery performance by 61%. Online booking is now faster and more reliable, which has significantly reduced customer complaints.

“Since the vast majority of our customers book their tickets online, any problem with accessibility of our booking site would affect the customer experience. CEB aims to provide quality and innovative service, and worthwhile travel experiences to our passengers. We’re continuously looking for ways to increase our website performance, and we can achieve this by partnering with Limelight Networks,” said Attorney JR Mantaring, VP for Corporate Affairs at CEB.
