Malwarebytes, the malware prevention and remediation solution, has launched its regional headquarters in Singapore.
"As now we have a footprint in Asia, we are excited to be able to go faster and further in supporting all consumers and businesses in the region, helping them better protect their online activities. At Malwarebytes, we believe strongly that everyone deserves a malware-free existence,” said Jeff Hurmuses, Area VP and MD, Asia Pacific, Malwarebytes.
Hurmuses disclosed that the company is building up a channels ecosystem. there are 20 distributors and 'hundreds' of resellers in the region at present. "We're trying to get the right channels on board. Everyone wants to carry our product," he said. "It hasn't been difficult to attract great people when you're working for a great company."
The company has a presence in Australia, and plans to go into China and Japan by end-year, Hurmuses said.
The company also showed how Malwarebytes technology prevents a ransomware attack in multiple ways, such as blocking visits to malicious sites; preventing the delivery of malware; and preventing malware already on the device from loading. Malwarebytes 3.0, the flagship product, was launched in December for consumers, and an enterprise version is in the works.
