Dassault Systèmes' 3DExperience Platform is leveraging on deep learning and graphics processor units (GPUs) to amp up on 3D design and simulation.
“What people have done with deep learning for image and speech recognition, we’re doing to transform how products are designed and experienced,” said Patrick Johnson, VP for corporate research at Dassault Systèmes, in a blog post about the 3D modelling software company at the GPU Technology Conference.
With NVIDIA GPUs and deep learning, Dassault Systèmes will soon be able to predict and propose a new range of designs based on previous designs. "From there, you just select the ones you want for faster and better design leveraging knowhow and past designs,” Johnson said. Engineers can then use the company’s software to plan the ideal manufacturing process and see how their design will function in the real world.
