Logicalis, an international IT solutions and managed services provider, and Metrodata, a major ICT company in Indonesia, have agreed to acquire Packet Systems Indonesia (PSI), an ICT systems integrator and services company.
PSI will be integrated with the existing joint venture between Logicalis and Metrodata in Indonesia, Logicalis Metrodata Indonesia (LMI). Logicalis will be the largest shareholder of this merged company.
PSI, established in 2004, is a Cisco Gold Partner specialising in data centre, collaboration, service provider and enterprise networks, and information security solutions. It has built a strong business in the Indonesian telecommunications (telco) sector, the fourth-largest in the world. The acquisition provides an opportunity for Logicalis to leverage these telco skills and experience in other Logicalis locations across the region, as well as bring its own portfolio of digital solutions and services to existing and new customers, in both the telco and enterprise markets, including for the Internet of Things (IoT), software-defined technologies and data analytics.
Logicalis has also established a managed security services practice in the Asia Pacific region, based out of Singapore, which will bring new service offerings to customers in Indonesia. The combined company brings Logicalis’ strong track record in the region, technical capability and expanded vertical expertise to PSI.
James Tay, Logicalis Asia CEO, said: “I welcome the PSI group into the Logicalis family and am confident that this partnership and synergy will bring even greater value to our customers.
“The new company will become a full-fledged end-to-end ICT solutions provider that offers services ranging from IT consulting to design and implementation and lifecycle management, supported by Logicalis’ full managed services expertise.
“Our combined leadership and complementary strengths will allow us to better innovate and adapt to serve our customers more efficiently and effectively, enabling us to build longer term relationships.”
Susanto Djaja, Metrodata CEO, said: “This acquisition will provide additional channels for PSI to expand their services to a wider customer base. Metrodata currently operates in 10 locations in Indonesia. Together with PSI, we can increase our portfolio of solutions, offer greater support and strengthen our footprint in the market.”
The enlarged business will be managed by Handy Surya Wirawan, currently President Director of PSI. He will be responsible for taking the group to the next level. In this capacity, Wirawan will report to Tay.
