ThinkAnalytics, developer of a widely-deployed TV search and recommendations engine, has appointed Samir Narsiker as VP to head up business development activities in India and neighbouring countries.
ThinkAnalytics already has a major development centre in Pune, India. Based out of Mumbai, India, Narsiker will report to Alan Dishington, Senior VP, APAC region, who is based in Singapore.
Narsiker is a seasoned industry professional. Prior to joining ThinkAnalytics, he was Director of business development at TiVo/Rovi. He has also held senior positions at Ericsson, Cisco, NDS, Dish TV and the Zee TV Group.
“We already have a substantial number of customers in India, with the Indian subcontinent being one of our key fastly developing territories. With Narsiker spearheading our efforts locally we are anticipating even stronger growth. In particular, Narsiker will be responsible for introducing the ThinkInsight customer and video insight platform to local TV and video providers, ” said Peter Docherty, Founder and CTO, ThinkAnalytics.
ThinkAnalytics is a private, employee-owned company with offices in UK, US, Singapore and India. Its flagship solution, the ThinkAnalytics Search and Recommendations Engine, is a real-time, personalised-content and recommendations engine. Deployments are possible in weeks either in the cloud or on-premise. The engine uses machine learning to analyse previous viewing behaviour and suggest new content for the user.
The company’s customer base of over 70 video service providers serves more than 200 million subscribers worldwide. Customers include Astro, Singtel and Vodafone.
