Singapore Computer Society (SCS), the nation’s largest body for infocomm and digital media professionals, has opened registration for the Splash Awards 2017: Games of Drones which is now open to students* in Singapore.
In its 50th anniversary year (SCS50), SCS is organising the national infocomm competition, the Splash Awards 2017 under the theme of Game of Drones – Fun, Fear and Future of Drones, encouraging students to come up with ideas to apply drones to solving real-life problems in areas such as education, healthcare, transport and logistics.
Free training workshops** will be conducted for the participating teams from July to October, helping them to pick up or enhance their drone coding and navigation skills. After two rounds of judging, shortlisted teams will be admitted to the final to showcase their prototypes in the Splash Awards Finals and Awards ceremony on 28 October 2017.
The public will also be invited to join a series of carnival activities on the day, where they can receive first-hand experience piloting a drone, get special deals from drone vendors and learn more about technology.
Interested?
From now until 14 August 2017, teams of up to three members can register to join the competition.

*Students from all high schools - secondary schools, centralised institutes (CI) and junior colleges (JC)- and institutes of higher learning (IHL) in Singapore are eligible.
**Seats for the training workshops are on a first-come-first-served basis.
