NVIDIA has posted recommended game settings for PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG) on GeForce.com after exhaustive benchmarking. PUBG, which has some 25 million PC gamer fans, exits early access mode on December 20 and moves to launch status.
At 1,920x1,080 resolution, the GeForce GTX 1060 hit an average of 70 frames per second (fps), and never dropped below 60 fps. At 2,560x1,440, the GeForce GTX 1070 exceeded 60 fps, running at 72 fps on average, with dips to 61 fps. For the gamer looking for the ultimate 4K PUBG experience, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, ran at exactly 60 fps with a full suite of settings on "high".
According to NVIDIA, bump up a GPU tier at each resolution to achieve 60 fps at PUBG's maximum-quality Ultra settings. So a GeForce GTX 1070 is required for 1,920x1,080 at 60 fps, a GeForce GTX 1080 at 2,560x1,440, and a factory-overclocked custom GeForce GTX 1080 Ti for 3,840x2,160 at 60 fps gameplay.
PUBG features NVIDIA ShadowPlay Highlights to automatically record kills and deaths for later sharing, as well as NVIDIA HBAO+ for realistic shadows and lighting with extra depth and detail. GeForce Experience-optimised settings are supported - these are one-click game settings optimisations customised for gamers' PCs.
