The DXC Foundation will host a global coding competition called DXC Codes for children aged 10 to 14 for the second time. Contestants are to submit coding projects using Scratch, a free coding platform for beginners, for a chance to win local prizes and a global championship.
DXC Codes engaged more than 1,700 youth from 14 countries in the competition’s first year, 2017. “The competition is a fun way for youth to discover computer science,” said Dan Hushon, Senior VP and CTO, DXC Technology, an independent, end-to-end IT services company. DXC Foundation is DXC Technology's philanthropic arm.
“DXC Foundation created a platform to introduce kids to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) technology and computer science, and to learn fun, valuable skills. We hope DXC Codes will inspire a passion for programming that benefits kids now and through their adulthood.”
