Qualtrics makes XM Platform more secure

- Qualtrics introduces new security features to unified experience management platform

- Security concerns around customer data on the rise

- Over 87% of Singapore’s customers find it very important to be able to trust brands with their personal data. However, 70% believe companies do not do enough around data protection

- Under half (45%) of global software-as-a-service (SaaS) vendors conduct vulnerability scans

Qualtrics, the experience management provider, has unveiled a more secure Experience Management (XM) Platform for optimising the experiences of an organisation’s customers, employees and markets. Data encryption and isolation techniques help to secure sensitive information. Qualtrics adds that it is the only customer experience vendor with an in-process application for the US government's Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRamp) accreditation.

Nearly nine in 10 (87%) Singapore consumers say that it is very important to be able to trust organisations with their personal data, according to Qualtrics' The Asia-Pacific Region’s Changing Customer Experience Environment report. Yet November 2016 KPMG research has shown that the majority of them (70%) did not believe that companies are doing enough.

“.. Security management has become more than just an imperative strategy and should be top of mind for all organisations regardless of their size,” said Sunil Pamnani, Senior Regional Lead, Experience Management solutions at Qualtrics. “.. Qualtrics has industry standard questionnaires and comprehensive documentation that assist customers in that vetting process.”

He noted that Qualtrics security and data protections meet the requirements of the Singaporean Personal Data Protection Act 2012.

To better understand security and privacy standards across software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies, Qualtrics conducted a SaaS Security Study in 2017 with over 200 information security and privacy decision makers. The respondents were all from software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution providers, with key results including:

- Less than half (45%) of the other SaaS companies conduct vulnerability scans, whereas Qualtrics runs them daily.

- While Qualtrics provides regular face-to-face training for all employees on security measures, less than half (41%) of other SaaS companies do the same.

- Nearly four in 10 (38%) companies follow a policy of data access prohibition without customer permission.

- Less than half (47%) of surveyed companies report running encrypted backups nightly.

- A majority of SaaS companies (79%) including Qualtrics maintain production backup environments in geographically and geologically distinct areas.

- Eight in 10 surveyed companies, and Qualtrics, offer robust customer control and individual permissions for accounts.

Within the Southeast Asia region, Qualtrics customers include OCBC Bank, United World College Southeast Asia (UWCSEA) and the National University of Singapore (NUS); Agoda, Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific, and Singapore Post.
