Fuji Xerox Singapore's 18th Docuworld event was themed Powering the Future of Work, with sustainability as key.
The two-day biannual business conference was inaugurated by Masagos Zulkifli, Singapore Minister for the Environment and Water Resources. The minister touched on Singapore’s Year of Climate Action, the corporate sustainability initiatives by the Singapore government that support energy and water efficiency among businesses, and Fuji Xerox’s commitment to sustainability in his opening keynote.
“Fuji Xerox DocuWorld is one of the premier business and technology conferences in Singapore, and typically sees up to 700 attendees from the local business community,” said Sara Cheng, CEO, Fuji Xerox Singapore.
“With that in mind, we are proud to hold the event this year in support of Singapore’s Year of Climate Action, and spread the word to businesses about the importance of being part of the solution as we fight the grave threats posed by climate change.”
Another focus for this year’s event was to assist small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in their transition towards becoming more sustainable in their operation. A Project Eco-Office workshop was also held in collaboration with the Singapore Environment Council.
“The rapid advancement of technology has made sustainable solutions available today, and many of our climate change challenges are really opportunities,” said Minister Masagos. “Through this DocuWorld business conference, I hope that SME owners will not only be exposed to the technological solutions and initiatives, which will make your organisation greener while bringing about cost savings, but also convince you of the business case for sustainability. How fast SMEs can make the transition towards a low-carbon economy will depend on how fast SMEs are willing to invest and change for this future.”
