Power management company Eaton has announced that its new Singapore office has received the Singapore Good Design Mark (SG Mark) from the Design Business Chamber of Singapore (DBCS). The SG Mark was established to set a benchmark for design quality that impacts businesses and communities in Singapore and beyond, and endorses products and services that demonstrate good design.
Revathi Advaithi, COO – Eaton, Electrical Sector, said, “At Eaton, we aspire to make work exciting, engaging and meaningful for our people. Our new office in Singapore attempts to creates an open, lively, safe and sustainable work environment that reinforces our values, fosters creativity and helps us strive towards achieving our vision to improve the quality of life and the environment. This award is surely an encouraging endorsement of our efforts in this direction.”
Eaton’s new office in Singapore aims to reinforce the company’s culture of innovation, learning and collaboration. The office features a techno-organic flair with clean lines that are at once elegant and dynamic. The hip décor infuses positive energy and helps creates an engaging environment to work in. The open-style workstations, semi-private offices and shared spaces for work, meetings and play are designed to foster creativity, encourage transparency as well as facilitate teamwork and seamless exchange of ideas.
The central pantry is lined with a combination of playful hues and lights. On special occasions, the central pantry transforms into a chic dining venue. The space enables employees to work, interact, relax and have fun.
Aligned with Eaton’s focus to workplace safety and its Zero Incident Safety Culture (ZISC), the workspaces, including the Technology Centre and the warehouses create an environment that is safe and comfortable.
“At Eaton, our commitment to sustainability is not just limited to the way we design and build products. It is embedded in everything we do and everyone we impact, including our people, our communities and the environment,” added Revathi.
This commitment extends to energy-efficient lights and electrical components that make power reliable and sustainable. Liquid epoxy-coated floors in pantries and breakout areas increase light reflectivity and reduce the lighting wattage which results in further energy savings. At least 30% of the furniture was recycled in this fitting-out project. The design allows the new office to accommodate 15% more staff than its previous premises with the same physical footprint, without compromising on comfort.
Eaton provides energy-efficient solutions that help customers manage electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power more efficiently, safely and sustainably. The company's electrical business is a major player with expertise in power distribution and circuit protection; backup power protection; control and automation; lighting and security; structural solutions and wiring devices; solutions for harsh and hazardous environments; and engineering services.
