- Dell hardware helped bring visual effects to life in the film
Dell has announced a suite of new Windows 10 gaming PCs – the Dell G3 15 and Dell G7 15 systems at a private screening of Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and The Wasp on July 4, the same day the movie opened in Singapore.
The Dell G Series introduces a new look for two new gaming laptops in Singapore, the Dell G3 15 and Dell G7 15. Both feature gaming-forward design and snappy performance at affordable prices. The new builds are equipped with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-Series graphics processor units (GPUs), 8th Gen Intel Core processors, thermal management solutions, intelligent content prioritisation software, as well as anti-glare in-plane switching (IPS) display panels.

The 15" Dell G3 15 laptop is powered by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series of discrete GPUs with Max-Q design technology, up to 8th Gen Intel Core i7 CPUs, dual fans and dual drives with solid state drive (SSD) options.
The laptop’s 2x2 Wi-Fi antenna design provides effective wireless performance, while SmartByte software prioritises gaming and video content, keeping playback smooth, even during large file downloads.

For those more performance, the Dell G7 15 comes in a 25 mm thin 15" chassis, with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPUs that have Max-Q design technology. A front air intake and rear exhaust vent push heat and noise away from the player, enabling longer gameplay. The Dell G7 15 is available in either Licorice Black or Alpine White*.
The system features 6 GB GDDR5 dedicated memory**, up to to six-core performance from 8th Gen Intel Core processors, dual fans, and dual drives with SSD options. Optional 8th Gen Intel Core i9 central processor unit (CPU) and UHD display (3,840x2,160) configurations are available. The Dell G7 15 will also offer an optional IPS UHD 4K panel for a premium on-screen experience.
Killer Gigabit Ethernet networking optimisation (Killer Wireless 2x2 LAN optional) and SmartByte software responsively prioritise content downloads for smooth, uninterrupted gaming and streaming.
“We recognise the diversity of the gaming ecosystem and the evolving needs of the modern gamer,” said Jarebb Chua, Consumer Country Manager, Malaysia & Singapore, Dell. “Customer experience is at the heart of our design philosophy and the new affordable G Series is reflective of our commitment to enable gamers of all levels to game at their best. We always strive for continuous innovation to deliver the best gaming solutions without sacrificing mobility, ease of use and reliability.”
The Dell PC gaming ecosystem includes a line of gaming hardware accessories such as the brand-new Alienware Wireless Gaming Headset and the Dell Visor. Game-dominating audiophile detail is delivered with the Alienware Wireless Gaming Headset. Clear natural and spatial sound, acoustic signature presets and customisable sound profiles, augmented by high-fidelity 40mm Neodymium drivers to deliver deep rich bass and an expansive soundscape are all standard with the headset. Users can expect 15 hours of battery life and a 40 ft wireless range.
The Dell Visor takes advantage of the same technology used in the Microsoft HoloLens, including inside-out tracking cameras, with a 360 degree panoramic view. The headset itself is able to scan surroundings instead of relying on satellite emitters positioned inside the room. It offers an immersive, lifelike, mixed reality (MR) experience with a resolution of 1,440 x 1,440 per eye, dual 2.89” LCD panels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The controllers allow users total control with haptic feedback, thumb stick and buttons that are fully tracked by sensors in the headset.
From Ant-Man’s and The Wasp’s suits to Hank Pym’s Lab, technology plays a lead role throughout the film. Dell devices, including the new G series, make several appearances throughout the film. The collaboration extends behind the camera, where Dell hardware helped to create the visual effects.
“Technology has always been about advancing human progress, and this core belief drives everything that we do,” said Rakesh Mandal, Senior Director & GM, Client Solutions, South Asia and Korea, Dell. “This exciting partnership with Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and The Wasp demonstrates the super powers of technology. It brings to life our goal to empower everyone with the capabilities of Dell devices and technology in pushing boundaries in design and gameplay – be it for gamers, visual effects artists or the average movie-goer.”
Dell EMC PowerEdge and Dell Precision hardware played a key role for the visual effects (VFX) in Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and The Wasp. Dell EMC PowerEdge servers and Dell Precision workstations provided the computing power and storage capacity to bring the movie’s characters and places to life.
Among others, artists at the VFX studio DNEG, use Dell Precision workstations for front-end operations. The Dell technology DNEG leveraged for the film includes:
- Dell Precision 7910 workstations
- Dell EMC PowerEdge R630 rack servers with MD3460 RAIDs
- Dell EMC PowerEdge M1000e blade server enclosures
- Hundreds of Dell monitors
