Kom will develop and execute data centre strategies across Asia Pacific, and assist enterprise, multi-tenant, hyperscale and cloud data centre customers with optimising their physical layer assets. Kom also manages specialist teams supporting various verticals including industrial, government, IT tech and financial service providers, and enterprise and data centres across the region.
Kom, a subject matter expert on data centre infrastructure, has more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications, specialising in enterprise networking, digital video technologies and low voltage power protection systems.
“As the region becomes increasingly digitised and connected, Corning brings global expertise in enabling next-generation data centres, with future-ready infrastructure that easily addresses unrelenting demand for greater density and connectivity. I look forward to helping data centre and enterprise network operators ensure their data centres are future-ready to support all network architectures and speeds to 400G. Scalability, low latency and lower total cost of ownership are vital to the longevity of a data centre in Asia Pacific,” said Kom.
Kom will report directly to Stuart Hoiness, Senior VP, Enterprise Networks at Corning.
