Huawei Consumer Business Group shares first half shipment numbers

The Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) has reported that global smartphone shipments stood at 95+ million units* for 1H18.

Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, said, “The past six months have been incredible for Huawei CBG, marked by robust growth of our business across all markets and product lines. Our success is owed to our commitment to innovation and, most importantly, our customers. Moving forward, Huawei will remain focused on continually improving our offerings with an emphasis on on-device artificial intelligence (AI), cloud and the wider Huawei ecosystem.”

Specifically,

· Global shipments of the HUAWEI P20 Series surpassed 9 million units. This family has attracted fashion-forward users;

· The HUAWEI Mate Series had global shipments of over 10 million units. This family has cemented Huawei's positioning as an expert in mobile AI;

· HUAWEI nova Series users have passed 50 million. Total shipments of the nova Series increased by 60% year-over-year.

· Huawei wearables achieved a 147% increase year-on-year;

According to IDC, Huawei is the world’s second largest smartphone manufacturer in Q218, with global market share of 15.8%.

Huawei operates over 53,000 Huawei stores and 3,500 Huawei Experience Stores around the world. The company plans to add another 10,000 retail stores and 700 Experience Stores before the end of 2018.
