CrimsonLogic Chrysalis drives Kazakhstan eJustice system

CrimsonLogic, a global provider of e-government products and services headquartered in Singapore, has partnered the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) Court and International Arbitration Centre (IAC) to launch the eJustice system as part of Kazakhstan’s ongoing drive towards digital transformation.

The AIFC Court and IAC eJustice system consists of a 24x7 online platform that manages the end-to-end electronic processing of legal documents, administration and court hearings. This system will enable accessibility, improved efficiency and fairness for all parties seeking judiciary and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services provided by the AIFC Court and the IAC.

The AIFC Court and IAC eJustice system is built using CrimsonLogic’s Chrysalis product, which allows for high configurability and flexibility in quickly meeting AIFC’s judiciary workflows.  Some of the features of the system include automatic notifications, calendar updates to the judges and lawyers, resulting in enhanced timeliness, improved resource utilisation and streamlined support for AIFC’s litigation and case management processes.

As the financial hub for Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Middle East, West China, Mongolia and Europe, AIFC aims to continue improving efficiencies and effectiveness of its operations.  The AIFC Court and IAC eJustice system will propel AIFC towards its long-term judiciary goals with the management of the end-to-end electronic processing of legal documents, administration and court hearings.

Litigants and lawyers can now electronically file legal documents for civil and commercial dispute resolution by AIFC Court and IAC, anytime and anywhere.

Saw Ken Wye, CEO of CrimsonLogic said: “The new AIFC eJustice system is built using CrimonsLogic’s Chrysalis, a world-class legal product that makes it easy for the legal community to improve case submission and management efficiency.  Commissioned in five months, this implementation is proof of Chrysalis’ high configurability and AIFC’s drive to modernise.

"As we continue to assist governments and institutions globally to drive digital transformation, we look forward to deeper engagements with AIFC and Kazakhstan with the strategic intent to expand our business footprint in Central Asia.”

"Prior to its official launch, the AIFC Court and IAC eJustice system was presented to the AIFC judges in London, together with an online trial system available to law firms in Kazakhstan and AIFC Legal Department. Feedback was gathered from these firms to ensure the system complies to the highest international standards of the leading jurisdictions, at the same time bringing immediate convenience and accessibility to the legal community to resolve civil and commercial disputes in the AIFC which will significantly enhance the timely and cost-effective resolution of disputes at the AIFC Court and IAC.

"We aim to provide the very best international standards of dispute resolution and eJustice is our latest innovation that will enable the AIFC Court and IAC to become the No. 1 choice for civil and commercial dispute resolution in the Eurasia region.”
